The faculty student unions or 'kringen' and the international student associations are the two main types of student associations in Leuven. The main difference between the two types is that the kringen are connected to a specific faculty and therefore represent students at the university level and also at the LOKO General Assembly.
Faculty student unions represent the voice of their students on important themes students encounter in their daily lives. If you experience any issue or have concerns, address one of your student union representatives and they will be able to bring it to the right people.
In Leuven we have a lot of side-entertainment in case you are bored of sitting behind your books all the time. Faculty student unions organize all different kinds of events: sport events, cultural events, parties and the famous drink and sing event named "cantus".
