The 'kringen' or student unions consist of students from one or more study programmes associated with a faculty and represent the students of their faculty. Kringen organise social activities like parties, game nights, city trips, quizzes, etc for students. Additionally they provide course services and act as a voice for students with regards to education, living in Leuven, etc. Most of the kringen have an international branch that is especially focused on international students.
